GLP-1 app privacy policy
This policy explains how Platform Intelligence handles personal data in the GLP-1 support app.
Last updated: 1 June 2026
This policy is designed for app review and publication. It should be checked against the final app build, App Store privacy answers, processor list, clinical model, and customer contracts before launch.
1. Controller and contact
Platform Intelligence is the controller of personal data processed through the app unless a separate customer, provider, or partner agreement says another organisation is the controller. Where the app is provided through a healthcare provider, employer, insurer, pharmacy, or other partner, that organisation may also be a controller or may receive information as described to you when you join.
For privacy questions or requests, contact hello@platform-intel.com.
2. Data we collect
Depending on how you use the app, we may collect and process:
- account data, such as name, email address, sign-in provider, user id, and authentication status;
- profile data, such as first name, date of birth, sex assigned at birth, height, current weight, target weight, goals, units, and preferences;
- medication context, such as medication name, active ingredient, dose, schedule, injection day, dose start date, medication reminders, and medication diary logs;
- nutrition and hydration data, such as food logs, drink logs, meal ideas, food preferences, diet style, allergens or dietary fit where provided, macro progress, and shopping-list choices;
- symptom and wellbeing data, such as symptoms, severity, notes, sleep, mood, energy, stress, cravings, and related trend or insight data;
- weight and activity data, such as weight logs, step count, and active calories where you choose to enable device health permissions;
- content you submit for analysis, such as typed food descriptions, photos, voice notes, transcripts, and analysis results;
- settings and preferences, such as notifications, check-in times, achievements, activity toggles, and account/data actions;
- technical data, such as device type, app version, operating system, diagnostics, crash data, security logs, and interaction events needed to run and improve the app;
- support communications, such as messages, feedback, and requests you send to us.
Many of these categories may reveal health information. We treat health-related data as sensitive and apply additional care to its processing.
3. Device health data
If you choose to enable activity monitoring, the app may request read-only access to limited device health data, such as steps and active calories, through Apple Health on iOS or Health Connect on Android.
Device health permissions are optional. You can withdraw them in your device settings. We do not write data to Apple Health or Health Connect in the current app design.
We do not use Apple Health, HealthKit, or Health Connect data for advertising, and we do not sell it. We only use it to provide health, fitness, nutrition, and app functionality that you enable.
4. How we use app data
We use app data to:
- create and manage your account;
- personalise nutrition, hydration, activity, symptom, and support content;
- show daily summaries, food ideas, shopping-list ideas, diary entries, trends, achievements, and reminders;
- analyse food descriptions, photos, and voice notes and turn them into estimated nutrition logs;
- detect possible patterns, gaps, and escalation signals that may help you or your provider understand progress;
- send notifications and reminders you enable;
- operate, secure, debug, and improve the app;
- respond to support requests and manage account or data deletion requests;
- produce aggregated or de-identified product insights, provided they do not identify you.
5. Lawful bases
Where UK GDPR or similar laws apply, we process personal data using lawful bases such as contract, legitimate interests, legal obligation, and consent.
For health-related data and other special category data, we generally rely on your explicit consent where required, together with appropriate safeguards. You can withdraw consent for optional processing, but some core app features may stop working if we cannot process the data needed to provide them.
6. Sharing app data
We may share app data with:
- service providers that host, secure, analyse, maintain, or support the app;
- authentication, notification, analytics, crash reporting, and customer support providers;
- food, image, audio, transcription, or AI analysis providers where needed to provide features you use;
- healthcare providers, programme providers, or commercial partners where the app is provided as part of their service and this has been explained to you;
- professional advisers, regulators, courts, law enforcement, or other parties where required by law or needed to protect rights and safety;
- successors or counterparties in a merger, acquisition, investment, restructuring, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell personal data. We do not share health data with advertisers.
7. Photos, voice notes, and analysis
If you use photo or voice food logging, the app may process images, audio, transcripts, and derived analysis outputs to identify likely foods and estimate nutrition. These outputs may be approximate. We use this information to provide the feature, maintain logs, troubleshoot, and improve reliability where permitted.
If you do not want the app to process photos or voice notes, use text logging or known food suggestions instead.
8. Notifications
If you enable notifications, we process notification preferences and reminder timings to send app reminders. You can change notification permissions in the app or your device settings.
9. International transfers
Some service providers may process personal data outside the UK or European Economic Area. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards such as adequacy regulations, standard contractual clauses, or equivalent protections.
10. Retention
We keep app data for as long as needed to provide the app, maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, protect security, and improve the service. If you delete your account or request deletion, we will delete or de-identify personal data unless we need to keep it for legal, security, backup, fraud prevention, or legitimate operational reasons.
Local cached data on your device may be cleared when you sign out or delete your account, subject to device and operating-system behaviour.
11. Your choices and rights
You may be able to:
- edit profile, preference, reminder, activity, and unit settings in the app;
- turn optional activity permissions on or off in your device settings;
- turn notifications on or off in the app or device settings;
- request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, or portability where applicable;
- withdraw consent where processing is based on consent;
- complain to a data protection authority. In the UK, this is the Information Commissioner's Office.
To make a request, contact hello@platform-intel.com.
12. Children
The app is intended for adults aged 18 and over. It is not intended for children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children through the app.
13. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including access controls, secure transmission, operational safeguards, and vendor management. No app, device, or internet service is completely secure.
14. Automated outputs and AI-assisted features
The app may use automated or AI-assisted features to generate food estimates, support content, pattern detection, and guidance. These features are designed to support practical decision-making, not to make medical decisions about you. You should review outputs and seek professional advice where needed.
15. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The updated version will apply when it is published in the app or on our website. If changes are material, we will take reasonable steps to bring them to your attention.
